the next few steps

I figured it out.

Well, the next two months. I’ve figured out the next 60 days of my life.

My last day at my current job is Jan 30. From there I’ll have a severance package that will cover me for a while, but I’ll also pick up some part time work with my parent’s company. The rest of my days will be devoted to nailing down final edits for my first book and seeing if I can get an agent to rep me! If no one wants to sell my book I’m 100% okay with self-publishing; it’s amazing how that industry has changed in the last few years!

I’ll be detailing the process on this blog. I don’t want this to become where I only talk about mental health. It’s an important topic, yes, but not the only part of my day. There’s so much more in my life than just bad days and I’m incredibly thankful for that!

Using one of the connections I mentioned in my last post I got to talk to H. D. Hunter, a published YA author! He told me that Twitter is actually the best place to find agents. I put out a call to the #writingcommunity earlier today and am interested to see what I get back! I’ll be going through the tag myself, probably tomorrow afternoon. This evening I have my first ASL class at my local community college! I’ve always wanted to learn it and am finally doing it!

So, yeah. Here’s to supportive friends, a relentless dream, and the audacity to fight for what you want!

Until next time
